Welcome to The Cost Study Web Portal Submission Process
The Cost Study 2020
Introduction of The Cost Study Web Portal
Since the 2016 cycle of The Cost Study, we no longer accept the Excel Template, and Excel Flat File or an ASCII file with your data. Instead, participating institutions can submit data and gather results through the web portal, including the institutional report, three-year averages of five cost metrics by CIP and Carnegie Classification, national norms and peer analyses, all in one spot.
Ways to Submit Data:
All participating institutions are responsible for populating the web portal in order to submit their data. You will have the option of keying in the data on a program by program basis or uploading your data from an Excel flat file. The template for populating a flat file can be found on the How to Submit Data tab or by clicking on the Web Portal Template.
A brief tutorial used for 2019 data submission is available here if you are new to the study or need a refresher course on how to submit data in the web portal. A more detailed document “How to Submit Data” can walk you through the process step by step. You can always reach us at firstname.lastname@example.org whenever you have questions regarding the web portal.
We Want Your Feedback:
As we develop the web portal, we will continue to add new features, and ask for your feedback and ideas on additional data points. This is in an effort to make The Cost Study (The National Study of Instructional Cost and Productivity) valuable to all participating institutions.
